New Appointment: Samantha Banfield joins Merseyrail

We loved working with Merseyrail to help them recruit their new Lead Infrastructure and Projects Safety Advisor - and Samantha Banfield  is a great appointment! Over the past five years, Sam has worked as a safety professional within the rail industry and she'll be focused on ensuring the continued delivery of a safe, reliable and high performing network for passengers and employees.

"I’m excited to have joined Merseyrail as their Lead Infrastructure and Projects Safety Advisor.

Over the past five years, I’ve worked as a safety professional within the rail industry. This has included Infrastructure Maintenance at Network Rail to Infrastructure Signalling Project Delivery at Siemens Mobility.

Within my career, I’ve always seen the value in people when it comes to safety. The railway has people that are knowledgeable and care in equal measure about the performance and the safety of those who work and use the network. My role has always been to work with people, so that they are set up to safely do what they need to. As I always say, let’s try and make the safest choice the easiest choice!

This feels very aligned to Merseyrail’s values and their strong focus on both passengers and employees. In the past year alone, they’ve have achieved the highest overall customer satisfaction rating and been named as the winners of a great place to work at the National Rail Awards.

The next few years promise to be an exciting time as we continue to enhance the network for passengers and employees. I’m looking forward to being part of that journey (no pun intended!) and contributing to the continued delivery of a safe, reliable, and high performing network".
