An inspiring day with Rebuilding Futures Alliance
Earlier this week, I had the privilege of joining the Rebuilding Futures Alliance at the House of Commons. Hosted by Catherine Atkinson MP, the event brought together partners, employers and advocates who are committed to challenging the assumptions and structural issues that keep many individuals out of work.
The RFA is doing incredible work across the country to support people leaving prison into secure employment. Stable work plays a powerful role in breaking the destructive cycle of reoffending. When people have the opportunity to rebuild their lives through meaningful employment, outcomes improve not only for the individual but for their families, communities and society as a whole. It also has a profound impact on community safety and the public purse.
As one of the founding sponsors, hearing the progress so far, particularly the stories of individuals already supported into employment, was a reminder of why this work matters so much.
I left the event with renewed purpose and a deep gratitude for the people driving this work forward. Gabby Ellis and Chris Leech MBE’s ability to bring people and organisations together has been key to RFA’s momentum. I’m looking forward to playing my part in what comes next!
