Head of Operations

Coach Transport | Events | Senior Leadership

Location: Birmingham city centre
Working pattern: Predominantly office-based, with UK and occasional international travel
Pay and Benefits: Base salary circa £70,000, Bonus - 15% of Base, Healthcare and Pension.
Relocation is also available and the specifics will be worked on a case-by-case basis.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and experienced Head of Operations to lead the delivery of coach transport services for a rapidly growing transport and events business.

Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will drive operational excellence, develop people and processes, strengthen supplier performance and support the organisation’s continued growth across the UK and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end operational delivery, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient services.

  • Manage transport planning, event operations, operational control and incident response.

  • Lead, develop and performance-manage the Operations team.

  • Oversee supplier relationships, service-level agreements and compliance.

  • Manage departmental budgets, KPIs, policies and operational procedures.

  • Drive safety management, risk mitigation and continuous improvement.

  • Work collaboratively across departments to improve service delivery and customer experience.

  • Support business development and international expansion.

  • Provide operational reporting and strategic input to the Board.

About You

You will be an experienced operations leader from the coach, bus, transport or events sector, with a proven ability to manage complex, time-critical operations.

You will bring strong commercial awareness, excellent people leadership skills and experience in supplier management, compliance and service delivery. You will be confident making decisions under pressure, leading incident response and implementing processes that support business growth.

The role is based in Birmingham, with occasional travel to events and operational sites across the UK and Ireland.
